Top 5 New Releases!

Hi folks! A new weekly segment for y'all, which is actually something I've been doing for the Movies About Girls podcast for fifteen weeks as of this weekend - my Top 5 X-rated new releases. I figured it would be cool to report my Top 5 here as well as on the podcast to keep y'all informed, and also for those of you who don't have the technology or the wherewithal.

I pick my Top 5 based on a few things, but you all know me well enough by now. I'm not going to be picking Max Hardcore's latest re-release, nor some Barely Legal throat fucking comp. I tend to go for things that are quality hotness, off the beaten path, genderqueer, made by women, or any combination of these things. Or, quite simply, something that strikes me as interesting. Oh, and of course, any good classic re-releases.

5. Starlets 2010 (Dir. William H.)

I love Elegant Angel's style, especially Mason/Sam No and William H. so this one is a must-see. In addition, everyone seems to be raving about Isis Taylor and I have yet to see her perform, so this is a good excuse.

4. Lights Out, Lezbos! (Dir. Joanna Angel)

I love that blurb! Honestly, I've yet to see a Joanna Angel movie I like, but I will persist in trying. Ok, so I've only seen one or two... I appreciate Angel's purpose, she's an intelligent, feminist young woman, and I support her company. This one sounds like fun.

3. Don Juan's Therapist (Dir. Nica Noelle)

Starring 2010 AVN Male and Female Performers of the Year, Tori Black and Manuel Ferrara.

Feminist Porn Award winner Nica Noelle's latest, and starring two of my favourite people in the biz...I must see this!! I also love Mz. Berlin, ever since her earth-shatteringly awesome performance with Christian in Strap Attack 10. Looking forward to this.

2. Bitchcraft 8 (Dir. Jake Malone)

I've never seen any of this series, and I'm kinda scared of Jake Malone's films, but they won me over with the "real female orgasms." I hear good things about it, and the performers seem to have good things to say about their on-set experiences, so I'll tentatively pick it as my #2 and see if I can brave the roughness.

1. Blonde Ambition: Platinum Elite Collection (Dir. The Amero Bros.)

This is just about the easiest #1 pick I've had to do so far. I cannot wait to see this film - I've never seen it before, and as soon as I found out it would be released as part of the Platinum Elite collection, I put off watching the existing versions. I can't recommend the Platinum Elite series enough. The features on this one are as wonderful as the Deep Inside Annie Sprinkle set. No Annie Sprinkle finger puppet, alas, but a piece of the 35mm film for yours to keep is a pretty awesome little memento. Also, a commentary by Jamie Gillis, a video tribute to Gillis, and a 20-page booklet about the film. Highly recommended! Thank you Video-X-Pix!
