Thanks DAPQueen (that's quite the claim! :) It's sad, a lot of pressures and demands put on women are reinforced by other women. Women are also raised to resent each other regarding looks, so I think the everyday reinforcement is part of that. (This policing of each other also makes it seem like men's hands are clean as a whistle!).

I've always thought hirsute honeys were hot, and I know plenty of men who feel the same way. Women, however, are usually the ones appalled by the freakish notion of hair on genitals. Whatever floats your boat. I personally find both looks appealing. Very interesting though, makes me wanna take a deeper look. Sweet website, by the way!

Blacksix -- I do find it interesting that "manscaping" (ugh) is not really treated as being a common reality. I think perhaps saying everything's the same for men isn't true -- if a guy is hairy, he's not going to be publicly mocked and harassed. One thing I noticed in the Guardian article is the claim that men aren't shaving, and that isn't true, among men younger than myself shaving has become as much the norm as among women.

I will be interesting to see what happens now that porn is re-introducing the bush. I find it interesting that it's the 'top-tier' gonzo women who are most often sporting bush. Mason is even working on a release for EA called Bush.

I recently read a theory that the impetus for the disappearance of pubic hair and trend toward cartoonishly augmented breasts was a formal reaction to the move from film to video.

What was once twenty feet across on screen was suddenly just twenty inches across on television. Pubic hair "needed" to be done away with and breasts made larger and larger, so the viewer could...view.

Whether there's any stock to the claim is debatable, but it's an interesting talking point, anyway.
